A more sophisticated Hello Kitty featured at MAC Cosmetics

She is such a cutie, Hello Kitty.  Who knew that she was 34?  She looks great.  And just in case you didn’t know, she is not a cat …she is a girl.   We dug into the details via Temptalia and WWD.  MAC Cosmetics teamed up with the Global Consumer Products department of Sanrio to create a Hello Kitty cosmetics line.  It’s been on the market since early February, and is poised for global expansion this month.  MAC embraced this icon for her sexy yet  fun and innocent appeal.  And it’s the perfect partnership to encourage make up devotees to play with their make up.  MAC focused their product development on the eyes (maybe since Hello Kitty has no mouth so she “speaks from the heart.”)  The Lucky Tom quad has violet blue, brown, gold and pink-coral shades, while the Too Dolly palette has mint, blue-silver, pale pink and magenta shades.  There are also eyeliners that sparkle with glitter and the blush is a poppy shade to stay in the coral and hot pink color palette.  The Hello Kitty offerings fall into two collections: the more affordable Hello Kitty Colour Collection and the more high-end Hello Kitty Kouture.   Here’s a little DIY for you featuring the Too Dolly eyeshadow quad.
