This Mom of 3 girls gives the gift of vanity mirrors and space of their own to her three little girls! Hollywood vanity in West Virginia, and each girl has her own makeup mirror and stenciled name. Even though these are professional mirrors, the Hollywood glam is just right for the girl vanity in your life. We love this story ... thanks for sharing Janene!

(photos courtesy of Janene M, except the Kardashian photo which was shot on my iPhone)

I love this story. I loved loved loved this story. Janene M, a working mom of 3 girls, posted an adorable pic to our Facebook page (we love when you guys do that!) She designed this room for her three daughters (Abby 12, Maggy 10 and Lilly 7) … so of course … we had to talk to her! Here’s the story … it made me melt because this honestly, is soooo the reason we started the company. She says it better than I ever could.

Vanity Girl: You created a girl’s dream room, what inspired you to create it?

Since I only had a brother growing up, I missed out on sister gossip sessions, learning new girly things, and hair/make-up tips. Creating an individual beauty space, for each of my daughters, in a close environment, is fostering the things I never had—that was my inspiration.

Vanity Girl: Did you design this vanity room yourself?

Yes! I initially was planning a neutral color theme design until I located your website which showed the Broadway Black vanity desks in a salon-type setting. I was hooked, pitched out all my designs, and quickly switched the color theme to Hot Pink and Black. The internet visual made it so easy to get a picture in my mind. The room consists of black/white damask items, zebra prints, dots and a checkered floor. The pink paint on the walls was from Lowes Home Improvement Center.

Vanity Girl: How did you hear about us?

I searched for months on the internet trying to locate a vanity that was made of solid construction so that my husband could make slots in the top of the makeup vanity to hold hair dryers, curling irons, etc, and was reasonably priced. I saw a picture on Amazon.com of the Black Broadway lighted makeup desks. I went directly to your site and placed an order. They were so much more than what I was searching for. The vanity mirrors are very solid (made to last) and already has the desk already slots for the styling products….my husband was happy with that. The Hollywood vanities are worth every penny. They even come with light bulbs and with a warranty. Who else could offer that?

Vanity Girl: What made you decide to get the vanities at this time?

I did a lot of research to get the right desks for my girls. Most desks I located leaned to more of a vintage look and/or was made of laminate. Since they are young, I wanted desks that wouldn’t go out of style. I wanted desks that would last for years while they are at home and then be able to move along with them through life. I have a feeling we’ll be moving these to their college dorms or apartments and then moving them again on their moves through life. Who wouldn’t want to take them with you? They are just too cute. Also, we live on a farm in West Virginia — far from the beauty and glamour of Hollywood — so, we just brought a little of Hollywood home by purchasing Vanity Girl Hollywood makeup desks.

Vanity Girl: When did you realize your girls were girly girls?

The girls are all very different in their personalities, yet all seem to just want to have fun playing in make-up, doing their hair, painting their nails and toes.

Vanity Girl: Who inspired YOU to be a girly girl and create this for your girls?

I played mainly with my brother and his friends growing up. Our days were filled playing dodge ball and baseball in the front yard. It wasn’t until I spent the night at a cousin’s house and in her room was a dresser and mirror with tons of make-up, fingernail polish, a manicure set, hair products…. and they were all hers. When I returned home, I wanted those things too. My mom helped me put a desk in my walk-in closet, my dad hooked up a light, and I was set. My own beauty space with my own things. The boys had to then wait until my make-up and hair was done before I could come out to play.

Since I only had a brother, I missed out on sister things. I just want my girls to have fun being together. I hope this room is where they will come together and get each other thru the many trials of growing up. I can set aside a new kitchen or adding on a garage until later. My kids are the most important to me.

PS. Just for fun, here are three Hollywood sisters who had a little conversation on their Black Broadway mirror at a little place called DASH New York We love it, from Hollywood to SoHo to a farm in West Virginia – girly girls and sisterhood is alive and well. xoxo
